In the feline world, mothers end up doing the majority of the childrearing.
Cat fathers aren’t recognised for being “fatherly,” cat dad and they often avoid their offspring.
When Chloe delivered a litter of kittens, she probably assumed she’d be on her own, but in a nice turn of events, the dad, Bonik, arrived to greet them!
In a heartwarming video, Chloe is laying with her newborn babies while Bonik walks up to view them.
Before welcoming his kittens, he gives Chloe a nice kiss and appears to check in with her before looking over at the kittens.
Both Chloe and Bonik were born with a gene mutation that causes osteochondrodysplasia, a condition that most of their children are expected to inherit.
Cats born with the disorder, known colloquially as Scottish Fold cats, frequently suffer from painful degenerative joint illnesses, kidney disease, and heart problems at a young age, among other things.
According to the RSPCA, their ears have a “folded” appearance due to poor cartilage.
Fortunately, Chloe, Bonik, and their kittens are all doing well right now!
Hopefully, despite their situation, they will all remain healthy and thrive.
It’s heartwarming to see how much affection the family has for one another.
